operating income from private donations. The program's success depends
on contributions that it receives from individuals, corporations, and
foundations. Big
Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge serves hundreds of
children in Northeast Pennsylvania, however there are so many more that
are still waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister.

The History of Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Bridge
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge began in Luzerne County in 1974. Since that time services have been offered in Wyoming, Columbia, Monroe, and Carbon Counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Annually, the program matches over 500 youth in a variety of services.
Since its inception in 1974, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bridge has strived to provide high quality mentoring services to the children and families of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters programs is provided through the various United Ways, state or federal grants, private donations and fund-raising efforts and program development.
